The University of Kurdistan is set to launch its "Career School" (School of Employment) with the primary objective of empowering students through skill development and strengthening the nexus between the university, industry, and society.
Establishment of the "Career School" at the University of Kurdistan: A Strategic Initiative for Enhancing Employability
Recognized as one of the five selected universities nationwide, the University of Kurdistan has undertaken the establishment of this school within the framework of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology's national initiative. Developed under the consultancy of the steering team from Sharif University of Technology and inspired by successful international benchmarks, this initiative aims to enhance the professional competencies and employability of students and alumni.
Serving as a systematic bridge between academia and the labor market, the Career School provides a structured platform to facilitate the transition of graduates into the professional world and secure sustainable employment. By leveraging the capacities of organizations such as the Technical and Vocational Training Organization, the National Skills University, Jahad Daneshgahi, the private sector, and regional industries, the school will offer a diverse range of training programs tailored to real market demands. These programs include career self-awareness and guidance, professional skill enhancement, and targeted internships in authentic work environments.
The school aims to foster equitable opportunities for talented students, particularly in less-developed regions, while establishing a robust network of alumni and professional mentoring programs. This framework creates a permanent pathway for experience transfer and the introduction of skilled professionals to the job market, thereby reinforcing the university's role in regional skill development. The Vice-Presidency for Research and Technology, in collaboration with the Industry-Society Liaison Office, has initiated the necessary measures for the deployment and operation of the Career School, positioning it as a key pillar in promoting sustainable career opportunities.
