The University of Kurdistan and the Provincial Electric Power Distribution Company have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at the optimal utilization of mutual facilities, talents, and capacities to address scientific, research, educational, and cultural requirements.

According to the Public Relations of the University of Kurdistan, the agreement was signed on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the presence of the President of the University of Kurdistan and the CEO of the Kurdistan Provincial Electric Power Distribution Company. The primary objectives of this collaboration include leveraging the scientific, research, educational, and technological capacities of both institutions, utilizing specialized human resources, and developing joint research and technological initiatives.

During the signing ceremony, the President of the University of Kurdistan highlighted the history of cooperation between the university and the power distribution company, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining and expanding these interactions.

Dr. Adel Seosemarde noted that the University of Kurdistan possesses significant scientific and technological potential and is ranked among the top universities in the country. He further stated that the university is currently pursuing the construction of a 300 kW solar power plant on its campus and expressed hope for the company's necessary cooperation and support in executing this project.

In the same context, Mohammad Saeed Soltani, CEO of the Kurdistan Provincial Electric Power Distribution Company, stated that the MoU aims to utilize the university's scientific and specialized capacities, particularly the expertise of the Department of Electrical Engineering, to implement joint projects and resolve technical challenges within the provincial power industry.

This MoU was concluded to ensure the efficient use of resources and talents of both parties to fulfill scientific, research, educational, and cultural objectives between the University of Kurdistan and the Provincial Electric Power Distribution Company.
