According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, the ceremony honoring the country's scientific elites was held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Iran International Conference Center, attended by dignitaries and a group of distinguished academic elites and researchers.

In this national event, Dr. Kiumars Karami, a Full Professor of Physics, was awarded the title of "Scientific Elite" in recognition of his brilliant research record and the publication of distinguished works on an international level.

Selection Criteria: Crossing the Frontiers of Knowledge
The National Scientific Elites Program, initiated in 2015 to identify and support leading researchers, selects scholars who have expanded the frontiers of knowledge by publishing articles in prestigious international journals.
According to the President of the Iran National Science Foundation, the primary selection criterion for this period was the quality and impact factor of works published in journals categorized in Groups "A" through "D" during the year 2024. In this assessment cycle, the scientific performance of 2,030 Iranian authors and researchers, who successfully published 857 articles in 135 reputable international journals, was meticulously monitored.

It is worth noting that in the 2025 ranking of the country's scientific institutions, Sharif University of Technology and the University of Tehran (jointly) and Tarbiat Modares University achieved the top ranks. With this valuable achievement, the University of Kurdistan has further solidified its position among the influential universities of the country.
